Kessey Jill Cham is a Chemist, Laboratory Coordinator, Supervisor, Administrator, and Professor at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. Her passion is helping students succeed through tutoring in Organic Chemistry. Get ready to meet the visionary behind a groundbreaking approach to education—Kessey Cham! With her dynamic curriculum, she's revolutionizing the way we think about learning by tapping into the power of multimodal instruction and emotional engagement. Prepare to be inspired as she unlocks the potential within every student, transforming education one mind at a time!
Kessey has been an entrepreneur for 16 years, with over 1700 clients. She leads students to increase their academic performance, helping them feel equipped with the knowledge they need to excel in the classroom while mentoring and providing inspiration to deal with adverse cognitive challenges in the college atmosphere. She educates students on becoming active learners, coping with reading materials, instructional problems, language barriers, time management, the burden of assignments, and cultural differences in education.
She knows what you need! What makes her so great? She struggled with her undergraduate program and was on academic probation at one point with a 0.91, graduated with her bachelor's with a 2.42, and was told she would fail in life and carried those words for almost 10 years of her life. She allowed imposter syndrome and others' opinions to diminish how she felt. Despite over a decade of strongholds, she trusted God and held tight to that ordained calling to teach, mentor, and help those struggling with their learning styles. She understands how to rise above difficulties to help you overcome them. In Spring 2021, she rose against adversity and finished her Master’s in Chemistry and minor in Public Health with a 3.428 GPA at Georgia State University.
Trust her to show you how she perfected her study techniques and give you the foundations to succeed! Everyone learns differently, and she is dedicated to finding the best practice for you!
She considers herself a ‘forever student,’ eager to build her academic foundations in psychology and sociology and stay in tune with students. She continues to connect with students on a deeper level, and that’s why you would love to work with her. She breaks down the difficulties of a subject to make it more manageable. She will listen to your frustrations with the topics, pushing you to become the best version of yourself despite what you think looks impossible! She teaches organic chemistry and provides time management skills, support, and a sprinkle of therapy!
