Kessey's path to becoming one of the most trusted Organic Chemistry educators in the country did not begin with ease. She entered college on academic probation with a 0.91 GPA, carrying the weight of being told — repeatedly, for nearly a decade — that she would fail. Most people in that position walk away. Kessey rebuilt.
"I know what it feels like to sit where you are — ambitious, overwhelmed, and striving for something greater than your circumstances."
She completed her undergraduate studies at Georgia State University with a 2.43 GPA, then went on to lead General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry laboratory programs for over 10 years — overseeing departmental scheduling, instructional logistics, and designing Teaching Assistant training and placement programs that strengthened instructional continuity and student support across multiple course levels.
She later taught at Spelman College for nearly three years before earning her Master of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Public Health from Georgia State University in Spring 2021, graduating with a 3.428 GPA. The same institution where her story began is where she finished — strong, on her own terms.
Through faith, discipline, and refined study systems, Kessey transformed her academic foundation. That transformation became her mission: to build the learning infrastructure she wished had existed when she needed it most.
Since 2009, she has supported nearly 1,900 students in Organic Chemistry, pre-med, pre-dental, DAT, and MCAT preparation — equipping each one not just with content mastery, but with sustainable systems for performing under real academic pressure.
Kessey's approach moves past passive, lecture-only education. It centers three interconnected principles that create lasting change — not just temporary exam scores.
Kessey remains deeply connected to her students because she never stopped being a learner herself. She relies on faith, active listening, and empathy as core professional tools — and she keeps showing up with the memory of what it felt like to be ambitious, overwhelmed, and striving for more than circumstances seemed to allow.
When she is not building study systems or supporting students, you will find her traveling, on a volleyball court, binge-watching something worth the time, or surrounded by the people who remind her why the mission matters.
Her mission is clear: to help students rise beyond self-doubt and succeed with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
